For many years, I believed the fatigue, weight gain, and aches I was experiencing were simply part of getting older.

But my health journey actually began much earlier.

At 40 years old, with four young children and a home we were literally building ourselves, I began experiencing heart palpitations that eventually led to a hospital visit. Medication was offered, but deep down I felt there had to be another way to care for my body.

Over the years that followed, life brought seasons of intense stress—working multiple jobs, homeschooling my children, navigating separation which led to divorce, and later working long days in ministry at a nonprofit Bible camp. Like many women, I spent years putting everyone else first while my own health slowly declined.

By my fifties I was experiencing what so many midlife women face: creeping weight gain, joint pain, low energy, and frustration with a body that no longer responded the way it once had.

Then COVID forced my body to slow down completely. As a long hauler, I had no choice but to step away from meaningful ministry work and focus on healing.

That season became a turning point.

Through simple but powerful changes—whole, nutrient-dense foods, walking and hiking to rebuild strength and lung capacity, and eventually strength training to restore muscle—I began to see my body heal and my energy return.

What I realized through that journey is something many women are never told:
Many of the symptoms we assume are “just aging” are often connected to how we nourish and care for our bodies.

That realization eventually became the foundation for the work I do today and the framework I now teach through The RENEWed Woman Method—a step-by-step journey that helps midlife women reclaim their energy, release stubborn weight, and restore focus so they can live with greater strength, clarity, and purpose.
